Me tooooo! I miss the conversations so much! And so far anyway, substack's subscription system seems to maaaaayyyybe prevent the dreaded Influencer. You want to monetize your work? Cool- just switch to subscription. If people want to pay for your stuff, they'll pay. No need to shill a million products in "paid partnerships" and beg for likes to drive up your revenue. Just make content that people want to buy. Easy as that.
Anyway, when can we expect Mater Familias to return to blogging as well?
Lol. Not likely ever. I am many things, but an aspiring writer is not one of them. I don’t think anyone wants to hear me blathering on about e-commerce business, troubleshooting reports and spreadsheets, and new airtable automations. I had heard of substack before, but didn’t really know what it was, so I’m really glad you have opened the world of this platform to me.
Oh Cari, this is wonderful. I look forward to the next installment. I feel like there's unfortunately a lot of dualistic thinking that throws the baby out with the bathwater when it comes to Halloween, etc. You're weaving it all together beautifully.
